On 12 January, the MPIA Committee held its first meeting in year 2021.
Apart from the follow-up on the proposed Data Collection System (DCS) project as an SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) alternative for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to meet the Distribution Code, the meeting also discussed the latest Net Energy Metering programme (NEM 3.0) announced by the government in December 2020.
The meeting decided to set up a task force to look into NEM 3.0 and members’ feedback on the programme for official feedback to the Energy Commission.
In addition, the meeting also discussed the impacts of the latest movement control imposed by the government on MPIA’s activities including the solar roadshow, training and the annual general meeting.
