ABOUT THIS COURSE
This course aims to provide a good understanding of the common safety practice, components specification, design rules as well as process to install a standalone solar PV system (SAPV). This course will specify the competency required to design and develop the critical elements supporting a safety compliance standalone solar PV system.
LEARNING OUTCOME
- Demonstrate the SAPV safety requirements and basic of electricity principle in standalone solar system.
- Demonstrate the basic components / tools needed and building / site consideration in standalone solar system installation.
- Apply practical installation and measurement skills to address the needs of safety and energy efficiency in setting up a standalone solar system.
- Construct a standalone PV system using training kits / facilities provided.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is intended for junior and senior technician, junior engineer or electrical engineering background participants. The candidate must posses’ basic technical background in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, or other related fields in Diploma or Degree levels as well as basics of photovoltaic system.

TRAINER

Upon graduating with Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (first class honours) from the University of Technology Malaysia in 1998, he pursued his PhD directly – majored in Optical Engineering – in the same university after selected by a Cambridge University Fellow Professor from Cavendish Laboratory; he was also awarded National Science Fellowship from Malaysian government to support the doctorate study.
