MPIA’s training course General Introduction to Photovoltaic Systems (code-named PV101) officially took off on 3 August 2021, with the first session conducted by MPIA Master Trainer Prof. Sulaiman Shaari.
Tailored for the non-technical personnel, the course aims to introduce photovoltaic (PV) technology and PV systems to the general public. It explains the concepts in easy terms to the non-engineering audience for an understanding of what a PV system does and can deliver.
During the eight-hour course, the functionality of a PV system’s main components and related procedures were explained in simple terms, while the various schemes in the country related to solar energy as well as the economic aspect were presented.
Upon announcement, the course received overwhelming response with more than one hundred registered participants, including those from the local authority, banks and insurance companies.
To ensure effective conduct of the course, they were split into four different groups for the training to be conducted on separate occasions between August and October 2021.
