

The MPIA Solar Roadshow in Penang was held on 8 December2021 and officiated by Penang State Exco for Trade, Industry and Entrepreneurial Development Dato’ Abdul Halim Hussain, who pointed out that climate change is not only a hot topic for discussion around the world now, but also for action.
“In the United States, President Biden has set climate action among his top agenda since assuming office at the White House. Meanwhile, the global manufacturing powerhouse China, has also made its pledge for carbon neutrality.”
He said during the COP 26 climate summit held in Scotland, more than 40 countries pledged to phase out using coal to generate electricity, they include South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia.
MPIA President Davis Chong said in Malaysia, the government had introduced the Net Energy Metering (NEM) and Self-consumption (SELCO) programmes which allow energy consumers to install solar photovoltaic systems on their buildings to generate electricity.
