MPIA speaks about Malaysian Solar PV Capabilities

The Malaysia-Myanmar Business Chamber held a webinar themed The Solar Tender in Myanmar 2021 on 8 July 2021.

Speakers from VDB Loi, a law firm in Myanmar, spoke about the upcoming tender of solar projects to be called in the country.

On the other hand, MPIA President Davis Chong spoke about Malaysia’s experience and capabilities in solar energy development. According to Davis, Malaysia’s first solar photovoltaic (PV) system was installed in 1982, and the total installed solar PV capacity surpassed the 1,000 MW mark in 2019.

He said currently, Malaysian expertise included solar PV system design, power system study, system integration, technical and management consultancy, solar PV project development and management, engineering, procurement, construction, etc.
