5th ASEAN Smart Grid Congress

MPIA hosted the 5th ASEAN Smart Grid Congress (ASGC 5) in December 2019, which was attended by delegates from all 10 ASEAN countries and China, Japan and the United States, including those from ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), Hawaii Natural Energy Institute (HNEI), New Energy Development Organisations (NEDO) of Japan, Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) and Energy Commission (ST) of Malaysia.

The event was co-hosted and co-organised by the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), and co-organised by the School of Renewable Energy and Smart Grid Technology (SGtech), Naresuan University, Thailand, the ASGC Secretariat.

Among the main objectives of the congress is to bring together industry players, field experts, researchers, policy makers and all users to exchange knowledge and ideas on economics, technology, policy and other aspects of smart grid.

There were 6 keynote papers and 7 technical papers presented during ASGC 5. In addition, representatives from all 10 ASEAN countries also presented about smart grid development in respective countries.
